A "Uniquely California" HR Certification Program

As the world’s fifth largest economy and with over 39 million residents, California is arguably the most complex state for public sector human resources and labor relations professionals, as the Golden State presents unique challenges and legal requirements that differ significantly from federal laws and those of other states. Given the complexity and extensive knowledge required for California professionals, this California-Specific HR Institute and Certification™ program are designed to be “uniquely California”, as the curriculum focuses on California-specific laws with practical pointers related to the areas of talent acquisition, benefits administration, leaves and disability accommodations, discrimination and harassment, labor relations, and other employment issues, and the CalGovHR designation will further demonstrate your mastery of California HR expertise. Our Institute classes are open to all HR professionals, including those working at public agencies throughout the state of California beyond.

Completion of the following core California-Specific HR Institute classes satisfies the professional training requirements for the CalGovHR Certified Professional (CGHR-CP™) designation, and serves as a building block to the CalGovHR Senior Certified Professional (CGHR-SCP™) designation.

CalGovHR's California-Specific HR Institute™ is ideal for new human resources professionals entering public sector HR, as well as for those wanting to expand their skills into new areas. Each workshop packs all the technical basics of public sector HR functional areas, including: talent acquisition, classification and compensation, benefits, and labor relations into an intensive, one-day program. Join the growing number of human resource professionals who have relied on CalGovHR to ensure excellence in these fundamental HR functions, and take advantage of these excellent opportunities for networking with other human resource professionals from other public agencies.

HRCI, SHRM, and MCLE Recertification Credits Available
